CA Technologies Selects BlueLock's VMware vCloud Datacenter Service

November 18, 2010
November 18, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – BlueLock, an experienced provider of cloud hosting and managed IT services, announces that CA Technologies has selected BlueLock’s VMware vCloud™ Datacenter Service to integrate CA Process Automation (formerly CA IT Process Automation Manager) and the VMware vCloud API. As one of the first certified VMware vCloud Datacenter Services beta providers, BlueLock enables CA Technologies to integrate with the VMware vCloud API, enabling process automation and orchestration for providing and consuming virtual resources in the cloud. Now in public beta, VMware vCloud Datacenter Services provide the business agility and cost effectiveness of public clouds without compromising on portability, compatibility, security and control demanded by enterprise IT organizations.

As a certified VMware vCloud Datacenter Services provider, BlueLock’s public cloud is an enterprise-class service delivering consistent and auditable security and performance features including layer 2 isolation, role-based access control and LDAP integration in a SAS 70 type II certified data center. BlueLock’s use of the same VMware technology used by enterprise IT provides a common management and security model that enables application portability across internal data centers and all VMware vCloud Datacenter Services. The integration of CA Process Automation and the VMware vCloud API in BlueLock’s VMware vCloud Datacenter Service will empower CA Technologies customers to deploy and manage virtualized workloads in VMware vCloud-based private, public and hybrid clouds.

“With a proven track record of delivering secure and agile public cloud resources, BlueLock was the ideal choice to support our CA Service Automation solutions,” said Roger Pilc, general manager, Virtualization and Automation, CA Technologies. “As customers go beyond experimentation with public clouds, our integration work will deliver a solid foundation to automate and manage workloads between private and public VMware vCloud™ API-enabled architectures. This capability can help to significantly lower cost and provide a compelling ROI.”

“Independent software vendors (ISVs) are increasingly turning to BlueLock for enterprise-class cloud hosting needed to deliver their solutions because we are one of the few service providers to have replicated the entire VMware vCloud™ stack, giving them comfort in knowing when they write something to the BlueLock cloud it can be moved to other VMware environments,” said Pat O’Day, CTO, BlueLock. “CA Technologies’ selection of our VMware vCloud Datacenter Services validates this point, but also demonstrates the powerful cloud bursting capabilities of its innovative process and workload automation solutions.”

“As VMware vCloud™ Datacenter Services enter into public beta, VMware is pleased to have ISVs and service provider partners teaming up to enable enterprise customers to gain new value from their virtualization investments,” said Dan Chu, vice president, cloud infrastructure and services, VMware. “CA Technologies integration of the VMware vCloud API in BlueLock’s VMware vCloud Datacenter Service is an excellent example of how customers are now empowered in their drive toward providing IT as a Service.”
