Cloud-based DDoS Protection Services Provider DOSarrest Announces ‘Cyber Attack Readiness’ Certification
Cloud-based Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection services provider DOSarrest has announced the launch of new ‘Cyber Attack Readiness’ certification. DOSarrest, which has headquarters in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, was established in 2007. Alongside DDoS protection the company’s services extend to website monitoring options, website vulnerability testing, Web Application Firewall (WAF) options and load balancing solutions. The new certificate gives website operators “the peace of mind that their website can survive a real world cyberattack”.

DOSarrest’s certification process offers ‘stress testing’ of enterprise systems. The company’s Internet security professionals run ‘cyberattacks’ on websites including TCP volumetric attacks up to 100Gb/sec alongside multiple Layer 7 type DDoS attacks. The attacks also include a “layer 7 Vulnerability scan and risk assessment audit report”. Based on the testing and its results, DOSarrest’s technical team highlight “critical weak spots” and recommend how to address them. Once issues are addressed, retesting takes place to ensure DOSarrest’s suggested measures are effective.

“Almost every week, we have an inquiry from someone who tells us they have DDoS Protection from their hosting provider, but their website still went down due to a DDoS attack,” explained DOSarrest’s Director of Customer Care, Jenny Wong. “This new service offering allows customers to test their attack defenses. It’s obvious there are a number of Hosting/ISPs masquerading as Internet Security specialists.”
