Neustar, Inc. (Neustar) has acquired domain name provider Bombora Technologies Pty Ltd. (Bombora). The company, which has headquarters in Sterling, Virginia, USA, also has a presence in Washington, DC, McLean, Virginia, and San Francisco, California. The company predominantly caters to “marketing and IT security professionals” with services that allow them to “promote and protect their businesses”. The deal has been estimated as costing AUD $118.5 million ($86.58 million). The acquisition will strengthen Neustar's domain registry capabilities.
Australia-based Bombora Technologies Pty Ltd (Bombora) bills itself as “a group of companies with a strong history in Internet infrastructure technology”. It deals with hardware and software and specializes in “solving complex business problems” for its customers. Its subsidiaries include ARI Registry Services, a Top Level Domain Name Registry Services provider “with a focus on stability, integrity and service”. It caters for a wide range of top-level domains (TLDs), including Australia-focused .au, .melbourne, and .sydney domains alongside .biz, .us, and .co domains and over 300 other new TLDs.
