Cloud Company Cloudability Acquires Data Transfer Company RipFog
Cloud company Cloudability has acquired data transfer company RipFog. The company, a startup which has headquarters in Portland, Oregon, USA, offers a number of solutions that help companies "manage their cloud spending across departments, across products and across their entire infrastructure". Financial aspects of the acquisition were not released, but this is Cloudability's third acquisition in recent months.

RipFog is also a startup established only last year. The company's solutions simplify how data is transferred between back-end systems and users. It also has headquarters in Portland and has additional facilities in San Francisco, California, USA. The company is involved in providing the "next generation of business benchmarking tools" which offer extensive operational analysis and reporting. RipFog's options also allow companies to "automatically and anonymously share their key performance metrics (across sales, marketing, finance, operations, and more) to calibrate optimization efforts based on comparisons to organizations with similar characteristics".

“As the cloud market has evolved, cost management demands have gotten more complex and involved greater and greater amounts of data,” explained Mat Ellis, the founder and CEO of Cloudability in a press release. “With RipFog’s engineering background in big data analytics, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of what our own analytics tools can do, and advancing the state of the art in cloud cost management.”
