Reston, Virginia-based cloud computing optimization provider
NCI, Inc. is to acquire software development and IT company Computech. NCI, which has around 1,800 employees worldwide, specializes in catering to US Federal Government agencies such as the defense, intelligence, and health care agencies. The company provides a range of services which include cloud computing and IT infrastructure optimization, information management and analytics, IT service management and training. Its purchase of Computech will cost around $56 million and will be a cash payment. Completion is expected 1 January, 2105.
Washington, D.C.-based Computech was established in 1979 and also provides software application development services. Its services include IT system modernization and big data processing for a range of organizations, including the United States' Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Homeland Security, Internal Revenue Service, the US House of Representatives and the US International Trade Commission, as well as the Executive Office of the President. The company employs around 170 employees and will receive around $40 million in revenue in the year ending December 31, 2014.
