ProfitBricks has chosen cloud data protection provider Acronis as its "exclusive backup solution provider". The company, which has locations in San Antonio, Texas and Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, as well as offices in Berlin, Germany, is a public company that is valued at $3 billion and was established by the founders of founders of web host 1&1 Internet.
ProfitBricks caters to around 10 million customers with a range of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions designed for both Managed Services Providers and end users. ProfitBricks' enables users to "select the desired amount of processing power and storage needed" and design and configure a Virtual Data Center "based on their unique requirements". Its partnership with Acronis adds to the flexibility and ease of ProfitBricks' services.
Swiss company Acronis International GmbH (Acronis) provides backup software for disaster recovery, and secure file sharing and data access. The company has headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts, USA. It was chosen by ProfitBricks because it supports a wide range of data sources and adapts to any delivery model. The company is also renowned for its support to service providers. With companies requiring faster data backup and recovery turnarounds, Acronis Backup Cloud provides a hybrid cloud backup and recovery solution that meets users' requirements. It can be used with Windows, Mac, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware, RHEV, XEN, KVM, Oracle VM, Microsoft Exchange and SQL, and XEN, KVM, Linux, Virtuozzo, Docker, Open-Xchange, and MySQL.
