STS has launched a new cloud platform with a focus on business. Established in 1989, STS, which has headquarters in Amman, Jordan, has a presence in the U.A.E., Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Erbil. It also has distributors in MENA nations such as Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar and Oman. The company has made the move as a response to increased interest in cloud services in the MENA region.
STS offers a range of options including network and convergence solutions, security management options, end user management and business productivity and software solutions. The company also offers STS payment options and maintains a training center and services division. Its services include CRM-as-a-Service, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service, Backup-as-a-Service, Productivity Tools-as-a-Service and Performance Monitoring-as-a-Service (PMaaS). Its solutions are underpinned by hardware from a number of leading providers including Cisco, Citrix, CompTIA, Corning, Dell and EMC. The STS Cloud is specifically designed to “tailor to the diverse needs of the business sector”.
STS Cloud represents Hybrid Cloud Computing services that will offer companies cost reduction alongside data security and increased productivity and flexibility. The launch of STS Cloud took place at Amman’s Sheraton Hotel last week. Jordan’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) H.E. Majd Shweikeh was in attendance.
"These platforms will form a backbone which the majority of other industries within the IT sector can build upon, to be utilized in areas such as the creation of digital educational content and mobile phone applications,” explained H.E. Shweikeh. “Given Jordan's competitive investment environment and qualified human resources - the pillars of this vital and important sector - this step will not only open the door for increased foreign and local investment prospects, but also provide employment opportunities for experienced and qualified Jordanians in several neighboring nations."
