Cloud Contact Relationship Management (CRM) giant Salesforce.com, Inc. (Salesforce) is to acquire unified software platform provider
MuleSoft. Salesforce, which has headquarters in San Francisco, California, United States, was established in 1999 and is very much a cloud adoption pioneer. Its CRM solution represents a global brand utilized by businesses around the world. The company is also involved in ‘Enterprise Cloud Computing’ and offers ‘Big Data’ solutions. An IBM partner, Salesforce’s ‘Einstein AI’ Artificial Intelligence technology is integrated with IBM’s Watson. Salesforce’s acquisition of MuleSoft is set to cost the company $6.5 billion.
MuleSoft, which has headquarters in San Francisco, California, United States, was established in 2006. The company’s unified software platform allows businesses to build application networks using Application Program Interfaces (APIs) – programs that allow one system to recognize and communicate with another. Its services support a number of companies including Salesforce itself, and other organizations like Netflix, Spotify, Coca-Cola and Unilever. MuleSoft generated $297 million in revenue in 2017, achieving “year over year” of 58%. MuleSoft will underpin a new ‘Salesforce Integration Cloud’ and the acquisition is expected to be completed by July 31, 2018.
