Cloud Giant Microsoft’s Canada-based Data Centers Now Online
Microsoft Canada has announced its Canada-based data centers are now online and officially ready for business. Microsoft Canada, the Canadian arm of the cloud and software giant, has headquarters in Mississauga, Canada. The company’s data centers are located in located in Toronto and Quebec City, Canada, and will offer Microsoft Azure and Office 365 to “even more Canadian businesses”. The announcement represents a “significant expansion of Microsoft's trusted cloud services into Canada”.

Canadian law has data sovereignty requirements so Microsoft’s Azure and Office 365 services allow data to be stored within Canada’s borders. This enables Canadian businesses to meet legal requirements. With a number of locations available within Canada, the service offers ‘data redundancy’ to ensure customers maintain business continuity. It also utilizes Azure ExpressRoute to facilitate ‘fast and private’ cloud connections.

"The opening of Microsoft's Canadian data centers provides a unique opportunity for our technology partners to innovate and differentiate their solutions, powered by Microsoft Cloud services," explained Microsoft Canada’s Director of Partner Strategy, Jason Brommet. "The opportunity this creates for them, and for their customers, regardless of size or industry, is unmatched -- we're thrilled Microsoft continues to offer a platform for growth and profitability."
