Cloud hosting and network provider
US Signal will add more than 100 miles to its 14,000-mile fiber network. The company, which has headquarters in Holland, Michigan, USA, offers "one of the largest, fully deployed networks" in the United States' Midwest. Its Cisco Systems-driven backbone offers "carrier class architecture" and underpins US Signal's colocation, disaster recovery, security and cloud hosting services. Its move to add to its fiber network will increase bandwidth available to Local Exchange Carriers in the Holland "metro market".
US Signal's extension will connect Michigan-based cities of Holland, Zeeland and Hudsonville and work will be completed in July. The impact of the move will be to improve bandwidth options for customers. The new route will create "low latency, private, dedicated connections for Internet and other US Signal services". “Customers are increasingly requiring more bandwidth,” explained US Signal's Vice President of Business Development, Kirk Dombek. “This expansion will allow us to reach more enterprises in Ottawa County and connect them to our regional network, cloud and data centers.”
US Signal’s network connects eight data centers and offers "the most robust network of its kind in the Midwest". The network features HIPAA Compliant Cloud-based and Network-based solutions. “There is an increased need for fiber-based services in the lakeshore market and we expect demand to grow in 2015 and 2016,” added Mr. Dombek. “This expansion will allow us to serve our customers in the Holland market by providing alternatives to current cable carriers, along with unmatched end-to-end reliability and security.”
