NaviSite, Inc. has announced the launch of a new ADA-compliant data center on the West Coast of the United States. The company, whose services include a range of scalable managed services and colocation, caters to companies that wish to outsource IT activity in a bid to reduce capital expenditure and costs. The company’s new “state-of-the-art enterprise-class data center” is located in Santa Clara, California, USA and is the company’s 10th operational center.
NaviSite’s new data center will feature “custom-engineered highly efficient air side economization and cooling” to reduce the environmental impact of cooling. The center is designed to cater for increased demand for the company’s cloud and managed services and will offer NaviSite’s full range of services. The facilities are owned by Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (Digital Realty), a company whose data centers are located in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, and which deals with around 600 customers.
“NaviSite has maintained a strong presence on the West Coast for more than a decade with our San Jose data center,” explained NaviSite’s General Manager Sumeet Sabharwal. “The Silicon Valley area is a hot-bed for innovation and the development of the new Santa Clara facility is aimed at enabling the growing demand for our portfolio of cloud-enabled enterprise hosting solutions. In addition, the data center will provide dedicated access to TWC’s state-of-the-art network backbone, enabling our customers with a comprehensive portfolio of both cloud and network services.”
