Cloud Hosting Provider SkySilk Cloud Services Launches New Cloud Platform
Cloud hosting provider SkySilk Cloud Services (SkySilk) has launched a new cloud platform. SkySilk, which has headquarters in Chatsworth, California, United States, was established in 2015. The company provides “fast, powerful, and simple cloud hosting services” that leverage “state-of-the-art technology”. Its services extend to cloud storage and ‘hyper converged cloud’ offerings. SkySilk’s cloud infrastructure allows users to create Virtual Private Servers (VPS) that can be used for a range of purposes, including application development, website hosting, IT automation, and cloud storage.

While in beta, SkySilk received 20,000 requests for access, resulting in more than 20,000 VPSs being deployed globally. Its new platform is affordable, but also entirely scalable, with additional resources readily available to meet additional business requirements as they occur. The flexibility of SkySilk’s plans means they are “suitable for developers, website owners, small to mid-sized businesses, IT professionals, and even students looking to utilize cloud computing in their everyday workflows”. The company’s platform launched September 1, 2018.

With SkySilk’s extended beta testing period starting in early 2017 the company has been able to address a range of potential threats to protect customers from “viruses, DDoS attacks, hacking, torrenting, and any other malicious server activity”. SkySilk provides an “extensive library of Turnkey Linux applications” that are pre-installed or can be configured on a VPS with a single click. These include solutions like WordPress, NodeJS, Redmine, and NextCloud. The company offers hosting at $1 per month for a ‘Basic’ plan, $2 per month for a ‘Standard’ plan, and $5 per month for a ‘Premium’ plan which includes triple replicated NVMe SSD storage, 1Gb of bandwidth and SSD storage.

“This is an exciting time for SkySilk and we want to kick off the launch of our custom cloud platform with a notable discount that allows our users the opportunity to experience SkySilk at pricing that works for them,” explained Matt Atkin, Project Manager at SkySilk. “We are grateful for the chance to have been able to work closely with our beta testers in order to build the best, most refined product we could. We are thrilled to finally be able to offer our platform to the public starting today!”
