CloudLinux has announced the launch of ‘Imunify360 Proactive Defense’ to protect Linux servers. CloudLinux, which has headquarters in Arcadia, California, United States, was established in 2009. The company is “the maker of the #1 OS for hosting providers” and has a number of partners including major players like LiquidWeb and Dell. It offers a Linux version that boasts enhanced security and stability that to date has been have installed around 80,000. CloudLinux is also the producer of Imunify360, a preemptive security solution “that actually stops attacks”.
Imunify360 Proactive Defense is still in Beta and can be used with CloudLinux 6 and 7, CentOS, RHEL, cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin. The solution is designed to “preemptively protect Linux web servers against attacks”. To stop malware, it ensures that “all incoming and existing data and traffic gets scanned” and safely blocks or removes malware upon detection.
Proactive Defense collects information from servers around the world and analyzes running scripts for “dangerous behaviors”. It guards against existing and unknown malware, protecting PHP websites from ‘zero-day’ attacks. “The first solution of its kind for Linux web servers”, it blocks potentially malicious executions automatically. Alongside malware, it protects against viruses, adware, spyware, Trojans, and worms.
“In the industry where every solution is focused on cleaning and removing malware, Imunify360 actually prevents it from running on web servers in the first place,” explained CloudLinux’s CEO, Igor Seletskiy. “Millions of different malware strains are focused on attacking web applications, yet, they all do the same thing. Proactive Defense identifies and stops them.”
