Cloud Platform Software Company OnApp Upgrades Cloud Management Platform
Cloud platform software company OnApp has upgraded its cloud management platform. OnApp, which has headquarters in London, United Kingdom, was established in 2010. The company employs more than 140 staff globally and has a presence in the United States, the European Union and around Asia-Pacific. It specializes in cloud and CDN services for Managed Service Provider (MSPs) and hosting providers in 93 countries, offering “a complete cloud and CDN management solution for service providers and enterprises”. OnApp has launched Version 6.0 of its platform with a range of enhancements.

OnApp 6.0’s upgraded features include an enhanced version of OnApp accelerator with “up to 100% performance improvement for websites hosted in OnApp clouds”. The new version also offers ‘Buckets’ - a feature that merges role-based access control and billing engine to offer cloud service providers the ability to package and price their own cloud services. Additional features include “new SDN capabilities, enhanced cloud workload import, notification and automation features and support for the VMware vCenter suite”.

“OnApp makes cloud easy for telcos, MSPs and other service providers who have struggled to make cloud profitable - either because of the cost and complexity of building and managing their own open source clouds, or because of the commercial limitations of reselling hyperscale clouds like AWS," suggested Tim Meredith, the Chief Commercial Officer at OnApp. “The new version of OnApp makes it even easier to build a cloud with OnApp, integrate cloud billing models with your existing billing systems and processes, and get to market fast with your own accelerated cloud services," he added.
