Cloud Software Company BroadSoft Announces Launch of BroadCloud Services in Japan
Cloud software company BroadSoft, Inc. (BroadSoft) has announced the launch of BroadCloud Services in Japan. BroadSoft, which has headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States, specializes in services that enable “mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer Unified Communications over their Internet Protocol networks”. Its offerings include consumer calling, messaging and collaboration communication services, including private branch exchanges, video calling, text messaging and converged mobile and fixed-line services.

BroadSoft’s expansion of BroadCloud into Japan was facilitated by its purchase of PBXL Inc. The acquisition was designed to allow BroadSoft to address increased demand for its hosted unified communications services in Japan. The combined talents of the companies will enable them to address 5 million small businesses in the Japanese that that represent “over 70% of Japan's work force”.

"Through the acquisition of PBXL, we believe we are now positioned to expand our cloud footprint to a growth market eager to adopt cloud business services," said Michael Tessler, chief executive officer, BroadSoft. "We also believe BroadCloud offers service providers eyeing the SMB market in Japan a competitive differentiator and opportunity to grow customers and revenues."
