Cloud Software Company Citrix Appoints Johnny Karam New Vice President for MEA
Cloud software company Citrix has appointed Johnny Karam as New Vice President for Middle East and Africa (MEA). Mr. Karam brings significant experience to his new position, which will require him to increase regional awareness of mobile work practices that leverage cloud computing and desktop virtualization. His brief will be to grow and develop Citrix's operations across the Middle East and Africa and create new business opportunities. He will also manage the organization's regional partner channels.

Reporting to Citrix's Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, Mr. Carlos Sartorius, Dubai-based Mr. Karam's appointment was based on has extensive insight into the enterprise market and a range of related skills and experience, particularly working in emerging markets. His previous positions included working for Symantec where he was Managing Director for Middle East and French Speaking Africa. He also worked with NavLink, and with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie in Paris.

"Mobile workstyles are at a tipping point in countries across MEA," explained Mr. Karam. "The consumerization of IT has begun to heavily influence the enterprise, driving demand for a more cost effective and flexible way of working. There is a significant opportunity for these technologies to help businesses in the Middle East and Africa embrace flexible working, foster self-service and create more agile IT environments. The prospects open to me by joining the company were clear from the outset; Citrix leads in the enterprise mobility space."
