Cloud storage platform provider Bitcasa and telecommunications provider 3 Hong Kong have launched 3 Super Cloud. Services will be available from 22 October 2014.

Bitcasa offers cloud storage solutions that are accessible using any device (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, etc.) in more than 140 countries. The company is backed by investors such as Horizons Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners and Samsung Ventures. 3 Hong Kong is the mobile operation of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH).

3 Super Cloud is a multi-platform cloud storage solution which leverages Bitcasa technologies to offer secure cloud storage options, again from any device. It features Bitcasa's "block-level, client-side encryption for advanced data security" alongside "smart caching technology". Three levels of service will be offered - 20GB, 100GB and 1,000GB cloud storage at monthly rates of HK$28 ($US3.61), HK$48 ($US6.19) and HK$78 ($US10.05).

"Bitcasa has the technology and scale to provide device makers and mobile carriers with secure, cloud storage services, which allow them to maintain ownership of their customers and brand," explained Brian Taptichm the CEO of Bitcasa. "Through our global partnership with Hutchison Telecom, its operating companies such as 3 Hong Kong will have the ability to quickly increase customer loyalty through offering customers a trusted source for storing and accessing their digital content."
