Colocation provider
ScaleMatrix has acquired edge services provider Instant Data Centers. ScaleMatrix has headquarters in San Diego, California, United States and offices in Katy, Texas. Established in 2011, the company offers “variable-density colocation, high-performance cloud, data protection, and professional support services” through four next-generation data centers with a Dynamic Density Control (DDC) cabinet platform. The company’s broad range of “aggressively priced” services include cloud computing, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), colocation, and disaster recovery. Users benefit from highly available scalable hosting platforms that receive ongoing customer support based in the United States. ScaleMatrix’s acquisition of Instant Data Centers is intended to enhance its edge computing capability.
Instant Data Centers is an Information Technology and services company based in Tempe, Arizona, United States. The company offers portable and easily deployable solutions that meet the growing demand for edge data services and leverage its patented micro modular data center designs. Its services are beyond the traditional colocation services. ScaleMatrix will adopt Instant Data Centers’ technology including its unique cooling cabinet designs. To date ScaleMatrix data centers have benefited from exclusive use of the S-Series Dynamic Density Control platform and will now be able to offer Instant Data Centers’ services both on premise or remotely. Financial aspects of the deal have not been released.
Acquiring Instant Data Centers allows ScaleMatrix to “help customers truly deploy any hardware, at any density, anywhere,” explained Chris Orlando, ScaleMatrix’s co-founder and CEO. “Our clients are increasingly requiring their IT resources to be closer to where the decision processes and data creation is occurring, especially as artificial intelligence continues to gain traction.” He added, “As we looked to expand in the market adding Instant Data Center’s various EDGE-friendly capabilities seemed like a natural extension of the DDC platform. We now support clients from a 100% unbiased position. With cloud, colocation, enterprise data center, and edge solutions at the ready, we are able to help clients solve IT challenges no matter where they occur”.
