Communications and technology solutions provider
Windstream Holdings (Windstream) has become one of the first companies to “establish a presence” at the new Chicago data center owned by QTS Realty Trust (QTS). Windstream has headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States and specializes in voice and data network communications. Its range of services extend to managed services offered to American businesses. QTS’ data center is earmarked for a July 1, 2016 opening while a grand opening event will take place July 15, 2016.
QTS was established in 2005 and has headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, United States. The company is the owner of Carpathia Hosting and offers a range of services which include colocation, cloud and web and IT application solutions. Its new Chicago-based “mega data center” offers 317,000-square-foot of floor space and a highly secure environment. Its presence at the new center means Windstream now has data centers in three locations, including in Sandston, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
“Windstream’s partnership with QTS and the opening of its Chicago facility are both significant factors in easing the network traffic capacity constraints of downtown Chicago,” explained Windstream’s Director of Product Management and Marketing for Wholesale Business Unit, Jeff Brown. “QTS Chicago is an ideal location, poised to deliver new levels of connectivity and performance to both Windstream and QTS customers, especially critical as demands for bandwidth continue to increase.”
