Ooredoo has partnered with Kuwaiti stock market manager Boursa Kuwait. Ooredoo, which has headquarters in Doha, Qatar, was established in 1973. The company provides a range of services including “mobile, fixed, broadband internet and corporate managed services tailored to the needs of consumers and businesses”. It has the vision of enriching lives and stimulating human growth by “leveraging communications to help people achieve their full potential”. Ooredoo will host Boursa Kuwait’s DR solution at its data center in Kuwait.
Boursa Kuwait is a private organization established to manage the Kuwait stock market. Established in April 2014, the organization’s mission is to “upgrade the exchange infrastructure and business environment to international standards” and at the same time ensure transparency, efficiency and accessibility. Boursa Kuwait’s deal with Ooredoo was signed by Khaled Abdulrazzaq Al Khaled, the CEO of Boursa Kuwait, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, the CEO of Ooredoo Kuwait at Boursa Kuwait’s headquarters. The arrangement with Ooredoo will enable Boursa Kuwait to “safeguard mission critical data with the highest level of security and operational reliability by offering services in-line with the highest industry standards”.
“In line with our vision of creating and sustaining a robust and resilient stock market where companies and investors can thrive, we have been investing our time and efforts to adopt the best practices across all aspects of our operations,” explained Mr. Al Khaled. “The new DR datacentre will further strengthen our IT DR Infrastructure and improve business continuity within the organisation at a lower cost with higher service standards. We are optimistic that our partnership with Ooredoo will bring further value to all our participants,” he added. “Our company is pleased to host Boursa Kuwait DR solution in its world-class hosting data center located in Kuwait,” added Mr. Al Thani.
