The company is recognized globally for its CRM offerings, but has over recent years moved into cloud services including Internet of Things (IOT) options. Although financial aspects of Salesforce’s acquisition were not released, it was announced that MetaMind would cease activity.

“Salesforce plans to integrate MetaMind's technology into Salesforce services,” explained MetaMind's blog when announcing the deal. “For unpaid web users, MetaMind's products will be discontinued on May 4. For our monthly recurring users, MetaMind's products will be discontinued on June 4. We'll delete any data we have stored for unpaid web users and monthly recurring users promptly after close”. The blog continued, “We plan to continue our AI research, so you'll continue to see us publish groundbreaking discoveries that advance our deep learning platform's accuracy and capabilities”.
