CRM Company Salesforce.com to Acquire Software Company SteelBrick
Cloud-based Contact Relationship Management (CRM) company Salesforce.com (Salesforce) is to acquire software company SteelBrick. Salesforce, which has head offices in San Francisco, California, United States, is a globally recognized brand that was established in 1999. The company also offers cloud solutions and recently launched Internet of Things (IoT) cloud services. Salesforce is planning to acquire SteelBrick for a sum of around $300 million. The deal will be finalized by the end of the first quarter 2016.

Startup SteelBrick, which has headquarters in San Mateo, California, United States, specializes in “quote-to-cash” (Q2C) software. Its solutions generate sales proposals through the integration and automation of end-to-end business processes that require pricing, quotations and invoicing. Salesforce is expected to add this capability to its CRM solutions. Salesforce had already invested in SteelBrick through its venture capital arm. News of the acquisition added 0.31% to the value of Salesforce’s shares.

“We’ve had the privilege to work and innovate with hundreds of important customers to make them successful,” suggested Godard Abel, SteelBrick’s CEO, on the company website. “We’ve built a special team with unmatched passion, talent, and expertise in Quote-to-Cash. We’ve created a unique “heart of the brick” culture established by our founder Max Rudman by totally focusing on taking genuinely good care of our customers, partners, and each other.”
