Contact Relationship Management (CRM) specialist Salesforce.com, Inc. (Salesforce
) and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) – traditionally known as ‘Big Blue’ – have formed a partnership. Salesforce, which has headquarters in San Francisco, California, United States, is one of the original cloud adopters offering a cloud-based CRM solution that is utilized by thousands of businesses globally. Over recent years the company has ventured into Enterprise Cloud Computing offering ‘Big Data’ solutions. Its partnership with IBM will see Salesforce’s new ‘Einstein AI’ artificial intelligence technology integrated with IBM’s Watson AI.
IBM has headquarters in Armonk, New York, United States and is one of the major cloud providers in the industry. In 2012 the company acquired Softlayer to extend its cloud services and enable it to offer services such as ‘Big Data’ solutions and Watson, its Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution. Watson is noted for beating two winners of the TV game show “Jeopardy” in 2011. It has been utilized by a range of companies in industries such as health care and financial services.
Einstein AI is Salesforce’s next generation of CRM apps and analyzes data gathered from Salesforce’s customers. Einstein offers ‘Einstein Vision’ – a range of APIs that enable those without in depth technical knowledge to build AI-powered apps. IBM and Salesforce will not share revenue as a result of their partnership. Rather, the companies will work together to enhance and broaden the appeal of each other’s solutions. "With Einstein, we are democratizing AI, enabling everyone to achieve new levels of productivity and accelerate growth, directly within the products they use every day," explained Salesforce’s President and Chief Product Officer, Alex Dayon in a press release.Do you know of any other organizations that are involved in new partnerships?
