Cyber Security Solutions Provider Bitdefender Makes Michael Gable VP of Cloud and Data Center Security Division
Cyber security solutions provider Bitdefender has made Michael Gable Vice President of the company’s Cloud and Data Center Security division. Bitdefender, which has global headquarters in Bucuresti, Romania, was established in 2001. The company aims to be “the most trusted cybersecurity technology provider in the world” and its customer base includes enterprises, SMEs, and government bodies in 150 countries. Bitdefender’s Cloud and Data Center Security division was only recently established.

Establishing the new division underpins Bitdefender’s strategy of leveraging its solutions to enhance security for software-defined, hyper-converged and cloud infrastructure-based server and virtual desktop workloads - a segment the company believes has “tremendous potential”. Mr. Gable is in an ideal position to lead the initiative. He is an industry veteran offering two decades of experience in areas that include sales leadership, strategic alliances, professional services and sales engineering. His previous roles have included leadership positions at companies like Trend Micro, CloudPassage, LANDESK Software, and Malwarebytes. At Bitdefender Mr. Gable will focus on addressing cloud-workload security issues for enterprises and he will be in charge of the company’s ecosystem partners. He will also be responsible for extending the company’s data center channel network.

“Bitdefender’s solutions leverage virtualization and cloud infrastructure to provide security which was not possible in the legacy data center world,” explained Mr. Gable. “These security solutions are highly effective against today’s most sophisticated attacks and they’re invisible to the attackers. They are built from the ground up for the modern data center and cloud infrastructure, delivering award-winning next-generation security plus a host of unique benefits that let enterprises extract maximum value from their datacenter-transformation initiatives. I look forward to helping organizations solve their data center-security challenges.”

“We are delighted to welcome Mike as a key member of our global enterprise team,” added Bitdefender’s Chief Operating Officer, Bogdan Irina. “He will play a key role in expanding our efforts in the data center and cloud space, bringing more than two decades of technology and cybersecurity sales-leadership experience.”
