Symantec has announced the launch of ‘Encryption Everywhere' - an encryption solution designed for web hosting providers. Symantec, which has headquarters in Mountain View, California, United States, is a globally recognized brand which operates “one of the world’s largest cyber intelligence networks”. The company’s solutions are utilized by companies and individuals globally and the company operates in 39 countries. Encryption Everywhere allows web hosts to integrate encryption into websites “the moment they are created”.
Symantec’s new offering allows hosts to offer services protecting websites from a range of threats. The offering also allows hosts to “offer a variety of flexible options” such as standard website encryption alongside premium security services that offer “stronger levels of website validation and protection”. News of the launch of the service comes alongside the publishing of Symantec's ‘Internet Security Threat Report’ which suggests that 78% of all websites have security vulnerabilities”.
"There are almost a billion websites today, yet only about 3% of those sites are encrypted, which means cybercriminals have been able to make a good living off of the web's lack of security," explained Symantec’s, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Website Security, Roxane Divol.
