Actifio has extended its partnership with Google Cloud. Actifio, which has headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 2009. The company bills itself as “the world’s leading enterprise DaaS platform” and offers “thousands of companies” a range of services including virtualization, backup and disaster recovery options, hybrid clouds and data protection services. By extending its partnership with Google Cloud, Actifio is now able to provide enterprise backup and disaster recovery directly to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Its services decouple data from physical storage enabling businesses to “manage, access, and protect their data faster, more efficiently, and more simply”.
Enterprise customers are increasingly concerned about data backup and are considering a range of options for disaster recovery and remote backup. Together Actifio and GCP can offer users a Google Cloud-based solution that offers enhanced data protection and safeguards against system failure and malware. The new capabilities Actifio brings to GCP can be leveraged on-premise and for workloads in the cloud. ‘Actifio for Google Cloud Platform’ features include being able to “rewind and recover data sets of 100 or more terabytes in minutes”. The solution also allows users to retain ‘point-in-time data’ over extended periods of time.
