Data Center and Colocation Services Provider Switch Datacenters to Extend Switch AMS1 Campus
Data center and colocation services provider Switch Datacenters has announced plans to extend its Switch AMS1 campus in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam. As well as colocation, Switch Datacenters offers a range of services for ISP’s, telecom operators and system integrators. These include cloud environments and Data Center-as-a-Service options. Switch AMS1 has a sister facility - Switch AMS2 - and both are connected by a 10 GbE dark fiber solution. 18,300 square feet will be added to Switch AMS1’s floor space.

Switch AMS1’s additional capacity will be used to house wholesale colocation for large companies, managed colocation providers, and cloud providers who need to be based in Amsterdam. The campus extension will feature energy-efficient cooling technologies that will provide the center with a pPUE figure of 1.04. The ISO 27001 and PCI DSS-compliant facility will also feature a 2N power configuration design alongside modular and scalable power feeds with an upgradable capacity ranging from 2MVA up to 10MVA and beyond.

“The new-to-build wholesale data center offering in Amsterdam constitutes of turnkey space that will be move-in ready and fully aligned with the most demanding server power density requirements in the industry,” explained Switch Datacenters’ CEO and founder Gregor Snipin a press release. “A large enterprise, a managed colocation provider, or a large cloud provider will find here enterprise-grade data center infrastructure meeting high-availability requirements set by mission-critical business applications.”
