Data Center and Managed Services Provider Peak 10 Presents Virtualization Webcast

July 4, 2007
July 4, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Data center and managed services provider Peak 10 (http://www.peak10.com) presented a webcast on virtualization June 28, 2007. Entitled “Virtualization for Business: Concept, Use and Benefits”, the webcast covered “what virtualization is, what it does, and how it helps businesses effectively manage their IT infrastructure with security and scalability”. Peak 10’s Vice President of Managed Services, Mr. Monty Blight, led the discussion along with Terry Morris of Peak 10 and Brent Adam of Yorel Integrated Solutions, Inc.

The webcast educated participants on why companies are using virtualization, and covered issues such as efficiency, ROI, high-availability and business continuity. The participants focused specifically on server virtualization, which allows a company to make better use of its physical server capabilities by distributing computing power across multiple virtual servers.

“Virtualization just makes so much sense, from both a business and technical perspective, that it has to be considered,” said Blight. “Virtual machines are managed in the same manner as physical servers but can be provisioned more quickly, clustered more easily, and moved around so that maintenance windows are effectively eliminated.”

This webcast is the first in a series on virtualization. Future webcasts will dig deeper into the technology and review case studies of how businesses are currently utilizing virtualization. An archived version is available at the company website.

Peak 10 owns and operates 10 data centers around the USA. The company bills itself as the “leading independent data center operator and managed services provider, delivering scalable, economical and reliable solutions for hosting and managing complex information technology infrastructure”.
