Multi-tenant data center (MTDC), cloud and interconnection solutions provider CoreSite Realty Corporation (CoreSite) has met its annual industry compliance by achieving a wealth of annual industry compliance certifications.

CoreSite, which has headquarters in Denver, Colorado, United States, was established in 2001. The company’s broad range of services are “available through a growing customer ecosystem across eight key North American markets” and include colocation. With 21 data centers and around 1,350 customers that include “leading enterprises, network operators, cloud providers, and supporting service providers”, CoreSite connects, protects, and optimizes its customers’ performance-sensitive data, applications, and computing workloads. By meeting its industry certification requirements CoreSite “demonstrates ongoing commitment to operational excellence”.

CoreSite’s annual examinations include System and Organization Controls (SOC) 1 Type 2 examination, SOC 2 Type 2 examination, International Organization for Standardization certification for Information Security Management Systems (ISO 27001), National Institute of Standards and Technology Publication Series 800-53 (NIST 800-53) attestation based on the high-impact baseline controls and additional Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) requirements for a subset of control families applicable to colocation services, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) validation, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) attestation for the HIPAA Security Rule and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) Breach Notification requirements.

These industry certifications are conducted annually and address areas like physical and environmental security, customer support and operational excellence, managing information and protecting and promoting information security, the safety of payment card data, and the privacy and security of health information. CoreSite’s certification required third-party assessment which was carried out by Schellman & Company, LLC, an independent CPA firm that is a licensed PCI Qualified Security Assessor, an ISO Certification Body, HITRUST CSF Assessor, and a FedRAMP Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO).
