Data102 LLC (Data102) has launched a new Virtual Private Server (VPS) platform. The company, which has headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, offers a range of products and services alongside VPS. These include hosting options, co-location, VoIP hosted handsets, and Internet bandwidth. The move is one in a “series of cloud innovations” available through the data center.
Data102’s VPS hosting options are available through cloud-based computers that share computer resources between a fixed number of hosting accounts. They offer a “month-to-month, low-cost, hassle-free” option for companies looking to avoid the high costs inherent in owning, operating or renting a dedicated server. VPS offers users a similar experience to dedicated hosting including full virtual server access. The key advantage of Data102’s is customers “knowing that their systems are guaranteed to stay online and available 24/7/365”.
Data102's new cloud VPS service has been enhanced with improved hardware and storage and can easily be ordered online through the company’s online portal. These enhancements include an upgrade to Solid State Disk (SSD) hard disks that have no moving parts and are significantly faster than the ‘spinning disk’ type hard disks utilized by more traditional VPS hosting services. To make the solution even faster, Data10’s Cloud VPS benefits from a 40 gbps network which connects servers to high speed storage.
"The performance of our new VPS platform is orders of magnitude greater than our previous system," explained Data102’s Vice President of Business Development, Travis Taylor. "Our customers will see the difference. We're not stopping there. We already have plans in place to add additional cloud services to complement our VPS platform in the coming months. Cloud technology is improving all the time, so we are working hard to stay ahead of the pack."
