Data Center Company MDX-i Partners with Microsoft
Data center company MDX-i Cloud Services has partnered with Microsoft. The company, which is a subsidiary of MainOne’s Data Center, has headquarters in Victoria Island, Nigeria. Its partnership with Microsoft will see it involved in cloud computing activity and the launch of a new cloud-based service alongside Microsoft. The solution, an “enterprise grade” Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution built of Microsoft Azure, provides “flexible, highly available and fully secure private computing environments to companies on a Pay-as-you-Go basis”.

MDX-i Cloud Services focuses on solutions that leverage “familiar technologies” and in “geographic specialization”. The company owns and operates a Tier III Data Center in Lagos from which it offers private, public and hybrid clouds. Its cloud services are tailored to the needs of businesses it the West Africa region. MDX-is new infrastructure offers businesses “access to a wide range of computing resources, such as storage, CPU, memory, security firewalls and network bandwidth, provisioned on a subscription basis”. The company’s future plans include offering a full suite of IT solutions including IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) and BaaS (Backup-as-a-Service).

“Businesses are beginning to embrace Cloud services because it promises increased agility in addition to savings in OPEX and CAPEX,” explained MDX-i’s Business Development Executive, Rob Lever. “Our IaaS platform reduces complexity, interoperability, and security concerns of our customers. It provides them the benefit of leveraging our infrastructure, and the expertise of MDX-i and Microsoft, without their having to incur the substantial costs associated with deploying such solutions”.
