Data Center Management Company Ingram Micro Acquires Parallels Holdings’ Odin Service Automation Platform
Parallels Holdings Limited (Parallels) has announced that Ingram Micro Inc. (Ingram Micro) has “entered into a definitive agreement” to acquire its Odin Service Automation platform. Parallels, whose global headquarters are in Seattle, Washington, United States, is a globally recognized virtualization technology brand with a presence in 15 countries. The company’s revenues for 2014 were more than $150 million. It split into two separate brands in March of this year.

The Plesk business unit currently provides web management solutions to in excess of 10 million small businesses and web hosting providers globally. The Virtuozzo business unit, a provider of container virtualization technology, will also operate as a standalone company under the Virtuozzo brand, while Parallels’ cross-platform solutions business unit will continue as a separate company under the ‘Parallels’ brand. Each of the three business area will remain under Parallels’ ownership.

Ingram Micro, which has headquarters in Santa Ana, California, United States, offers a range of services including delivering global technology and supporting cloud aggregation through the supply of chain services, data center management, logistics, and technology distribution. Its acquisition of the Odin Service Automation platform will be completed “by the end of 2015”. Financial aspects of the deal have not been released.

“We are thrilled that our long-term collaboration with Ingram Micro has reached this new milestone, as it will greatly benefit our Odin Service Automation customers, partners and staff,” explained Parallels’ CEO Birger Steen explained. “At the same time, this provides us with the opportunity to sharpen our focus as a company and continue to deliver market leading products under the Parallels, Plesk and Virtuozzo brands.”
