July 27, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Peak 10, Inc., the leading independent data center operator and managed services provider, has announced the opening of its third enterprise-class data center on its Charlotte campus. The new facility provides additional raised floor space, increasing the entire overall Charlotte campus footprint to nearly 70,000 square feet. This investment provides increased capacity for delivering and supporting virtual and cloud-based services.

“The continued investment in our infrastructure is the direct result of the steady growth of our local and national customer base,” said Pat O’Brien, the vice president and general manager of Peak 10 Charlotte. “As we have expanded our solutions and customer reach, Charlotte’s growth has been a consistent leader for the company over the past eight years. Our Peak 10 team is excited about this expansion, as it allows us to deliver managed IT and data center solutions to even more area businesses and sets high standards of technology services leadership.”

With the second Charlotte facility tracking to reach capacity benchmarks, the company began planning and initial work began on this facility in the first quarter of 2009. Its addition was necessary to meet the increasing new customer demand for Peak 10’s data center and managed services solutions. The multi-million dollar project was managed by Peak 10’s construction management partner, R.T. Dooley (a Balfour Beatty company), one of the leading and most respected contractors in the Carolinas and nationally.

“Peak 10 has implemented a rigorous commissioning process, tested by engineering firm PTS Consulting Group, PLC, to ensure that our data center integrity and operational stability meet the strict standards Peak 10 customers demand,” said Ray Caponi, senior facility manager for Peak 10. “The new Charlotte data center builds upon Peak 10’s proven expertise in infrastructure design and operation of enterprise-class data centers. Characteristics of the facility include state of the art control systems, around-the-clock onsite support, tiered physical security, robust private meshed network, power and cooling redundancy, and 24x7 authorized customer access.”

“We continue to experience consistent, organic growth fueled by organizations that understand the importance and need for a trusted and scalable infrastructure partner,” said David Jones, the president and chief executive officer of Peak 10. “The expansion of our third-generation Charlotte data center, our 16th facility, assures businesses that the most current infrastructure and systems continue to evolve and are accessible at Peak 10. With this addition we continue our ability to scale with growth of our investment in technology, engineering and virtual services to support the advancement of our cloud-based solutions in addition to Peak 10’s other core services and support.”
