Liberty Center One has acquired hosting and cloud provider Zimcom Internet Solutions (Zimcom). Liberty Center One provides data center services through its SOC2 Type II-certified facility in Royal Oak, Michigan, United States. The company’s range of services includes managed, dedicated and shared hosting options alongside colocation. Financial aspects of its acquisition of Zimcom were not released.
Established in 1999, Zimcom has headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The company is recognized as “one of the Midwest’s premiere hosting and cloud solutions providers”. It offers managed cloud service and specializes in providing scalable solutions with a strong focus on data protection and availability. Zimcom’s services extend to public and private cloud offerings, Infrastructure-as-a-Service and cloud VPS alongside hosted desktop, disaster recovery, and enterprise storage options. Zimcom operates three data centers in Ohio and Texas, United States. Liberty Center One’s Royal Oak data center will be added to the company’s network to provide “geographic diversity for disaster-proof redundancy”.
Liberty Center One were attracted to Zimcom’s technology platform and the similarity of the company’s approach to its customers. While the company will integrate Zimcom’s products and services to its own suite of offerings, key members of Zimcom staff will remain with the company. Steve Searles will remain as VP and CTO of the company while Jason Huebner will become VP and General Manager of the company’s Cincinnati office. Zimcom’s other staff will stay in Cincinnati.
“We were initially attracted to Zimcom by their use of leading-edge cloud technology and enterprise-level infrastructure,” explained Liberty Center One’s President, Rex Smith. “But we were even more impressed by their passion for customer service and partnership approach to business engagements which meshes well with our company’s culture.”
