Data center services provider
OnRamp is helping its customers deal with risks related to storing data in the cloud. The company, which has locations in Texas and North Carolina, USA, is providing customers with private cloud solutions that are hosted on dedicated equipment.
Public cloud are generally shared environments that allow multiple IT infrastructures on a single server which are partitioned by virtual firewalls. Data stored in such an environment can be subject to a range of threats.
In a recent survey, cloud security standards authority The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) highlighted nine key cloud security risks. These included data breaches, data loss, accounts being hijacked, and insecure APIs and Denial of Service (DoS) issues. To counter these threats OnRamp provides high security, customized private cloud solutions that Payment Card Industry (PCI) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. Hosted on dedicated equipment, data is much more secure.
“The advent of cloud computing technologies has, without a doubt, changed the scope of IT services within recent years,” explained Chad Kissinger, Founder of OnRamp. “However, with these advances, new security concerns have emerged. What is clear from this list, is that by choosing to store their critical data ‘in the cloud,’ businesses assume the inherent risks associated with allowing information to physically reside on servers and supporting infrastructure that is shared with others. OnRamp’s fully customizable private cloud solutions, reside on dedicated equipment, so customers can avoid these concerns altogether.”
