Data Center Solutions Provider CyrusOne Buys Land for Second Facility
Data center solutions provider CyrusOne has bought land with the intention of establishing its second data center facility. CyrusOne has headquarters in Dallas, Texas, United States and was established in 2000. Specializing in “highly reliable enterprise-class, carrier-neutral data center properties”, alongside data center solutions its services extend to colocation. The company caters to around 900 customers which include “nearly half of the Fortune 20 and more than 160 of the Fortune 1000 or equivalent-sized companies”. The purchased land is a 70-acre site in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, near the location of the company’s first data center.

Located in the 270-acre Mesa Elliot Technology Park, CyrusOne’s facility will deliver upwards of 198 megawatts of power. The new center will be only six miles from Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport. Companies like Apple already have a presence in the park and it includes EdgeConneX and EdgeCore - data centers developed by Digital Realty. The new campus will “cater towards Fortune 1000 companies” and address increased demand for IT services in the area. Alongside the construction of the new facility Mesa City Council will be investing $10 million in infrastructure improvements like increasing the size of streets, landscaping, and additional traffic signaling.

“We are always listening to our customer base in terms of where we need to be and what services we can offer,” explained CyrusOne’s CTO, Kevin Timmons. “Officials in Mesa and Sunbelt have been great partners and we are proud to work alongside them as we help usher in a new era of jobs, growth and investment for the local community.”
