Data Delivery Company GEMServers Announces DaaS Offering
Data delivery company GEMServers has announced a new Database-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering which is “fueled by DeepSQL and Google Compute Engine”. GEMServers, which has headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, has a global presence which spans the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Asia Pacific. The company provides a range of services alongside DBaaS solutions, including “enterprise class hosting” for WordPress sites. Its new “white glove” DBaaS offering offers highly enhanced performance.

GemServers’ solutions enable its customers in the DBaaS market to focus on their core business competencies and avoid the distractions of “managing and maintaining traditional high-cost, low-return database infrastructure”. Its fully-managed offering utilizes deepSQL, Google Compute Engine and GCE’s real-time analytics to provide a service which is “20 times faster than Amazon Aurora and 69 times faster than MySQL”.

“Businesses are dying to take advantage of DBaaS for its scale, simplicity and power, but because it’s a struggle to fit their workloads into Aurora’s generic infrastructure offerings, those promised benefits come up short,” explained GEMServers’ Founder and CEO John Teague. “We’re taking a completely different approach by creating a DBaaS that can meet the unique needs of every customer while delivering on—and surpassing—their expectations. Thanks to deepSQL’s application-aware architecture, which continually self-optimizes and ensures low-latency performance on any workload, and the power of Google Compute Engine, we’re able to offer a tailored, next-gen DBaaS that takes performance and security to a whole new level.”
