Datacenter.com’s AMS1 data center has been shortlisted for an industry award.
Datacenter.com, which is noted for paying “more than $500,000” for its domain name, has its headquarters in the Netherlands capital, Amsterdam. Established in 2015, the company offers a range for services through ISO 14001:2015-accredited carrier-neutral facilities that are powered by 100% renewable energy. It also operates an extensive channel partner program. Datacenter.com has been nominated by Datacloud Europe for the ‘Datacloud Awards 2018’ under the ‘Excellence in Data Center Architecture and Design’ category.
The Datacloud Awards recognize companies that offer “genuine inspiration, innovation and excellence”. The awards have 19 categories and a panel of 21 independent judges consider nominees using a strict set of criteria. This year is the 11th year of the awards and winners will receive their awards at a ceremony that takes place in Monte Carlo at the Le Sporting Club on June 12, 2018.
Datacenter.com’s innovative AMS1 data center utilizes ‘Indirect Adiabatic Cooling’ and Schneider Electric UPS technology. The facility has a “highly modular cooling infrastructure directly under the raised floor, with a height of 4.7 meters”. Its pPUE has been calculated at ‘1,04’. Alongside Datacenter.com, three other companies have been nominated for THE ‘Excellence in Data Center Architecture and Design’ award (Kao Data, Altice Portugal and WestfalenWIND IT).
