Datapipe’s Docklands Data Center Triples in Capacity, Second London Facility Added

August 10, 2011
August 10, 2011 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Datapipe, a leading provider of managed services and infrastructure for mission critical IT and cloud computing, announced that it has expanded its presence in the UK. Datapipe now controls an additional 8,000 square feet of high density data center space at the Global Switch facility in the Docklands, London, bringing Datapipe’s total space at the facility to 15,000 square feet. The company has also added a second facility in Slough, which clients can utilize as either a primary location or a Disaster Recovery (DR) site for the Docklands facility.

The expansion in the UK comes at a time of significant global growth for Datapipe. The company’s overall revenue growth in the second quarter of 2011 was equal to the total growth the company experienced in all of 2009.

“Our presence in the UK is a critical element of our global reach,” said Datapipe CEO, Robb Allen. “This expansion enhances our ability to deliver services to customers in this important technical and financial market.”

In May, Datapipe announced it had secured $176 million in equity and credit financing. The funding, led by ABRY Partners & TD Securities, has been used to increase the company’s borrowing capacity and fund expansions. In addition to the UK, Datapipe will significantly expand its San Jose, Calif. and Hong Kong capacity and double its capacity of Somerset Two, its New Jersey data center that opened in May of 2010.

In 2011 Datapipe was named to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Web Hosting and has continued to gain recognition within the industry. Netcraft, a leading source for insight into a provider’s network uptime, has recognized Datapipe as the most reliable hosting company four times in 2011. Datapipe was also recently recognized as the HP AllianceOne Partner of the Year in the Innovative Partner – Service Provider Category.
