Digital Experience Company Acquia Announces Online Drupal 8 Courses
Digital experience company Acquia has announced the launch of online Drupal 8 courses. Acquia, which has global headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 2007. The company bills itself as offering a “cloud platform for building, delivering, and optimizing digital experiences” and caters to organizations like Intuit, Warner Music Group and Stanford University with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings, particularly products, services and support for the Drupal Open Source (OS) Content Management System (CMS). The company’s Drupal 8 courses are part of its ‘Drupal 8 Readiness’ offerings.

Drupal was launched in 2001 and is the favored CMS platform of a wide number of organizations globally. The software manages websites of a range of complexity, from simple blogs, to highly sophisticated enterprise grade websites. It is recognized as being more secure than some CMS solutions, and it is supported by a global community. As with many CMS platforms, Drupal uses templates to change the look and feel of a website, and a range of addon modules, developed by the support community, enhance a website’s capabilities. Drupal 8 is the latest version of the solution and offers around 200 new features and improvements on previous versions.

Acquia’s new Acquia Academy offers free Drupal 8 training as a means of enabling digital marketers and developers to ‘prepare themselves to move to the newest version of the world's most widely adopted, enterprise open source digital experience software’. The Academy also provides courses for Drupal 7 and its own Acquia Platform products.

"Making Drupal 8 learning available to everyone is part of Acquia's commitment to accelerate Drupal 8 adoption across the landscape,” explained the Chief Operating Officer at Acquia, Preston Bradford. “These courses will help managers and admins shorten their learning curve and get productive fast with Drupal 8. Tailor-made for professionals to access on their own schedule, the courses offer proven insights and industry best practices from Acquia's professional services and product teams as well as partner agencies."
