.ME Registry will be launching an auction of premium .ME domain names at the end of this month.
Partnering with online domain marketplace and monetization provider, Sedo, the week-long auction will provide a series of unique domain names, available to those looking to create their own personalized online identity.
.ME domain names serve as a way for businesses, services or individuals to promote themselves and create a page delivering information, blogs or photo albums, on what .ME describe as “your personal corner of the Internet.”
Predrag Lesic, CEO of the .ME Registry spoke of the increasing popularity of the domains and the company’s last auction which saw Hotel.Me sold for $25,000, Life.Me at $17,450 and Forex.Me at $16,099.
”2012 is a great year for dot-ME. Our previous premium domain auction in January went very well,” he said.
“Our registrations are climbing and we have gained some great partners who are proud to use their short, memorable .ME domain names.”
Following its establishment in 2008, .ME domain names have become an increasingly popular alternative to .com, with the likes of Facebook and Delicious already signed up.
