Web4Africa has been given the go-ahead to offer '.RW' domain names to its global customer base. Established in 2002, Web4Africa is an ICANN accredited domain name provider with global headquarters in Randburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Alongside domain name registration it offers web hosting and specializes in colocation, dedicated servers, and Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting.
The ‘.RW’ extension is the Internet country code top-level domain for the Republic of Rwanda (Rwanda) in eastern Africa. Permission to offer the domain was granted by the Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance (RICTA) - a not-for-profit organization formed in 2005 to manage the '.RW' country code top-level domain, and the Rwanda Internet Exchange Point. RICTA is a member of Nominet and accredited by NiRA, NiC-NA, ZACR, and other ccTLD registries. The organization supports the interests of the Rwandan internet community. Launching the domain is key to Rwandan domain name resellers expanding their businesses and the move underscores RICTA’s commitment to Africa.
