January 27, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Domain name registrar NetNames (http://www.netnames.com) is to protect Unilever brands online, the company announced yesterday. Unilever brands include Dove soap, Surf washing powder, Knorr stock cubes and Vaseline hand lotion. Unilever has 6,300 domain names that will be consolidated, managed and protected by NetNames.
Baker & McKenzie was chosen to manage Unilever’s global trademark portfolio they enaged NetNames’ Platinum Service to manage domains for Unilever websites. NetNames has dedicated a senior account manager to manage Unilever’s domain name portfolio and will “assist Unilever in the implementation of their comprehensive domain name strategy”.
