Domain Registrar and Web Host Namecheap Adds ‘AutoBackup’ Feature to Premium Shared Hosting Packages
Domain registrar and web host Namecheap Inc. (Namecheap) has announced it has added a new ‘AutoBackup’ feature to its premium shared hosting packages (Stellar Plus and Stellar Business). ICANN-accredited Namecheap has around two million customers and manages more than 10 million domain names. The company has headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It offers a range of services which include its ‘EasyWP’ managed WordPress hosting solution and SSL certificates. ‘AutoBackup’ is a feature that is built into cPanel - the industry-leading control panel that manages Namecheap’s hosting packages.

AutoBackup enables Namecheap’s premium shared hosting customers to “keep their website’s data safe and sound”. The feature continually monitors a website and automatically backs up cPanel and website data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis (6 daily, 3 weekly and 11 monthly backups). When an issue happens, users can rollback their website to a previous version. New Stellar Plus and Stellar Business customers currently benefit from a 50% discount on the first-year purchases of yearly plans.

The new feature is available free of charge and provides backups for an unlimited number of websites and “the entire cPanel”. It is accessible through a user-friendly interface and does not require setting up - its immediately available for use. Backups include all account files, databases, email accounts and settings. Stellar Business customers receive unlimited backup storage space. However, Stellar Plus customers are notified via email when they reach “a certain storage limit” as outlined in the company’s ‘Acceptable Use Policy’.
