Domain Registrar Domain.com Launches Domains with .XYZ Suffix
ICANN-accredited domain registrar Domain.com has launched sales of domains with the “.XYZ” suffix. Established in 2000, the company, a division of Endurance International Group, prides itself on delivering “high quality, reliable domain name registration and web hosting services at affordable prices”. Alongside domain registration, its services include web hosting, VPS hosting, SSL options, and website design.

The company sits alongside a family of Endurance International Group brands which include Bluehost, HostGator, FatCow, iPage, BigRock and MOJO Marketplace. With headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, Endurance companies cater to a 3.6 million-strong customer base.

“.xyz” is a generic domain extension with ambitions of usurping the better known “.com” domains for popularity. According to the CEO of the .XYZ Registry, Mr. Daniel Negari, the domain will be recognizable in over 125 Latin-based languages. It joins around 140 new generic Top-Level Domains (TLD) released with more recognizable suffixes. Around 650 new domain options will be released throughout the remainder of 2014 and in 2015.

"The alphabet ends in XYZ, so it makes sense that domain names should too," explained Mr. Negari. ".XYZ is a great opportunity for the younger generation as well as new Internet users to get a highly brandable name."

"Finding new domains is often a frustrating process for startups and new businesses trying to brand themselves," added Domain.com’s General Manager, Brian Unruh. "Daniel's team at .XYZ has put together a great value proposition as to why brands should consider building their websites on a .XYZ domain name."
