Domain Registration and Web Hosting Services Provider Namecheap Acquires PeopleHost

October 3, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Domain registration and web hosting services provider Namecheap has acquired budget web host PeopleHost, it was announced recently. "We have acquired PeopleHost as part of our long-term hosting growth strategy," explained CEO of Namecheap, Richard Kirkendall. "We identified them as a company that we can transform with our world class customer service and technical support. This experience will be entirely positive for all PeopleHost customers."

According to the company, Namecheap began operations “just over a year ago” and now has a customer base of around 11,000 hosting customers. The company’s Hosting Services CVP Matthew Russell is in charge of the company’s hosting operation, and will be overseeing and managing the PeopleHost acquisition.

"It is our intention to bring PeopleHost our exceptional service qualities within a 6 to 12 week period,” explained Mr. Russell. “We had expanded our customer service, sales and technical support teams and PeopleHost customers are already experiencing our 30 minute response times as well as more reliable and faster website load times. The whole Namecheap experience is orientated around customer satisfaction".

NameCheap was started in 2000 by CEO Richard Kirkendall in Los Angeles, California, USA. According to the company, “millions of domain names have been registered through the site, making it one of the top five domain registries in the world”. PeopleHost was started in 1999 by Steven Horrighs to service the budget hosting market, and has over 2000 domains under management.
