January 20, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH) UK-based shared web hosting provider Dream Hosting (http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk) has announced the completion of its dPanel web hosting, domain and billing management panel. Version 3.0 of the panel incorporates an improved design and has gone through 2 months of a beta testing. It will now operate on over 500,000 active user accounts.
"We originally looked at the possibilities of using other third party web hosting billing and management packages on the market. We soon noticed limitations in what services we could offer and hence the only real option was to build our own custom package. Having a custom built system also gives us greater flexibility in future updates and service enhancements," suggested Adam Wilson, Technical Director of Dream Hosting.
"Part of the development of dPanel v3.0 was to allow users to manage all aspects of their hosting account in one place, with only one username and password. Members can now manage an unlimited amount of domain names and hosting accounts without the need to remember the details for each. dPanel v3.0 even provides an automatic seamless login to any cPanel accounts making the whole experience a lot more user friendly. I am sure that once our customers begin using our software, they will see that it's a hosting and billing system built with their needs in mind. Also we have employed a new professional design for the control panel. It makes managing one's website an eye-pleasing experience," added Mr. Wilson.
dPanel features include multiple accounts management alongside whois information and domain name management. The software will also update nameservers, manage support tickets, pay and view invoices and place new hosting orders.
