Mr. Duane Barnes has joined managed cloud services provider
RapidScale. RapidScale, which has headquarters in Irvine, California, United States, was established in 2008. The company offers a wide range of cloud computing solutions and caters to global businesses of a range of sizes. Its proprietary managed CloudDesktop platform enables the company to offer “advanced solutions and applications for the cloud computing space”. These include its CloudServer, CloudDesktop, CloudOffice, CloudMail, CloudRecovery, and CloudApps solutions. Mr. Barnes joins the company as Director of Sales Engineering.
An 18-year veteran, Mr. Barnes has experience in a range of areas including data center services, managed hosting, cloud computing, virtualization, storage, networking, disaster recovery and security. He was formerly a ‘cloud specialist’ for technology services distributor Intelisys and involved in supporting the company’s partners in the Southeast region. Other positions he has held include roles at Open-Xchange and Windstream Hosted Solutions/TierPoint. His new role will see Mr. Barnes oversee a team of pre-sales engineers. His responsibilities will also include “building complex cloud computing services” and supporting RapidScale’s sales and executive staff.
“Duane has an impressive background and track record, and we are very excited to welcome him to the RapidScale team," explained the President of Sales at RapidScale, Mark Szotkowski. “His understanding of the industry, and new focus on both the sales and engineering sides will allow us to continue driving the client experience and focus on growth."
