Dutch Cloud Services Platform Provider Interoute Announces Launch of Virtual Data Centre Zones
Dutch cloud services platform provider Interoute has announced the launch of new Virtual Data Center zones. Deployed in less than 3 months, the new zones (located in Canary Wharf, London, UK, and Slough, just north of London) are part of a group of five Interoute has launched this year. The expansion makes Interoute the owner of "Europe’s largest cloud services platform". It owns ten zones globally.

News of the new zones comes in the wake of Interoute's purchase of Vtesse, one of the United Kingdom's largest networks. The purchase means that Interoute has more locations in Europe than Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google and Softlayer. Its network allows data packets to be sent to one new London zone and the other, and then sent back, in 1.3 milliseconds. Packers sent and returned between London and New York zones are done so in 68.2 milliseconds.

“Interoute believes in being close to its customers and key markets by investing in multiple locations, rather than relying on a single or limited presence to serve a continent," explained the CTO of Interoute, Matthew Finnie. "Our Interoute Virtual Data Centres are not only intrinsically part of our network but also reside in some of the most highly connected and interconnected locations available. Our recent UK data centre and network expansion brings our cloud within a few milliseconds of our customers, partners and major business hubs in the UK”.
