ITB2 Datacenters is in the finals of the DatacenterDynamics EMEA Awards 2013. The company's ITB2 data center in Apeldoorn has been nominated as a finalist in the awards' "Improved Data Center Energy Efficiency" category. Other finalists in this category include Telecity Group and Colt.
The data center has also been nominated as a finalist in awards' Innovation in the Mega Data Center category. Winners in all 13 award categories will be chosen by jury and announced at a ceremony held at London's Lancaster London Hotel on 12 December 2013.
Established in 1997, ITB2 Datacenters is a subsidiary of Royal Reesink NV. The company specializes in providing colocation services to Holland's domestic market, and focuses on catering to financial institutions, corporate organizations, local authorities, small and medium-sized businesses, and Internet providers. The company's Apeldoorn data center also reached the finals of BroadGroup's International Datacentres Awards 2013 in June of this year.
“I think that it is already quite an honour to have reached the finals of the DatacenterDynamics Awards in recognition of our innovations in the data center environment, as this is the leading award in our industry,” explained ITB2 Datacenters' Director and Founder, Niels Hensen. “The fact that our data center in Apeldoorn has been nominated as a finalist in two separate categories of the DCD Awards, however, is highly significant in my view. Given its calculated PUE rating of 1.07, our colocation facility in Apeldoorn is extremely energy-efficient. The manner in which we achieved this level of efficiency, however, is unique in Europe as far as I am aware.”
